From the outside, this device looks very minimalist, all made of plastic and not much larger than the scanning area. Since my last scanner was a lot bigger, heavier and had to be replaced just because I upgraded to Win10, I doubted the quality would be that good. In fact, however, the quality is quite up to the standard of the earlier scanner and is very economical. The UI takes a little getting used to (scan/copy/etc always from the device's built-in buttons, not in the app, which is only used to customize how pressing those buttons is handled, but actually works pretty well. And according to the Show It's surprisingly quick to copy (scan straight to the printer) They only scan part of a wider document, which the old narrow-edge scanners can't do The OCR (scan to searchable PDF) capability provided is pretty good - not perfect, but certainly fulfills modern standards.
