I'm stunned that Kodak released this product. It's literally just a box with a battery pack inside. However, I decided to try it on my iPhone 8. I downloaded the app and tried my best to get a decent "scan" (i.e. a photo of the lit negative using my iPhone's built-in camera) by positioning the camera over the hole at the top of the box. I adjusted the settings, the size, selected different options, but you see what I saw (second picture). Rearranged camera, corrected settings. Just a black hole. The image was sharp for a moment, then went black. In the end I removed the cardboard cover (if you can call it that) from the unit and simply held the camera very level and very close to the illuminated negative. The quality of the photo is lame. Artifact and stained - not worth your time and money. Invest in the best product. I plan.
