Review on πŸ’¨ innobay USB/Rechargeable Personal Fan with LED Light - Quiet & Powerful (4-inch, Black) by Alex Webster

Blows a lot of air in a small case

Small powerful fan. I bought the exact same fan at a trade show 4 years ago. The fan lasted about 3 years, but over time it thundered. I suspect it has to do with the hub based design, but the overall fan design looked EXACTLY like this. The plastic didn't have a matte finish, but it squeezed out *a lot* of air. It cost me $30 to buy back then. A few months ago this fan finally gave up and I tried all possible alternatives, but none of the alternatives fit this fan. small but lets out a TON of air? This is a mini USB version. There are other companies that make this fan, but innobay seems to be trying to be like its rival Opolar when it comes to fans - better documentation, better support, better products and better quality control. This thing didn't feel as cheap as the previous version of this product I had that didn't even have a name on it. The "low" setting on this fan is the high setting on many other desktop USB fans in this price range. . But in the mids it pushes a lot of air, much more CFM in a compact package. It's REALLY loud at altitude, but throws out roughly a ton of air. None of its competitors can deliver such air at high frequencies. So what's its downside? Loud on medium and high. It's faint white noise at low frequencies and a fairly loud hum at mid and high frequencies, but that's the physics for you - smaller fans that produce more air will be louder. That's all. Any attempts at soundproofing in its design add to the cost of this fan. Personally, I can tolerate the mid-level audio with a fan a foot away from my hand - I'd say it's around 40 decibels (I don't have a device to measure the audio), but the concentrated airflow makes it so. cools only where I need it (my arms and hands). Its tiny size makes it easy to move around. You can also charge the battery (included) for this fan while it is running at high power. Opolar's equivalent of this fan won't let you do that and is intentionally manufactured. They claim they can't do this due to voltage limitations, but I had no problem charging this fan's battery while it was running. If you need spot cooling and don't care about noise, get this fan. It may not look as sleek, but it does the job and beats its weight and price class.
