Soft no cutting sides. No open on top like some other brands that would over flow. I have peed sitting down in a car with the tip attached to a tube with a catch bottle and it worked perfectly no leaks, BUT then my child wasnt so careful about the tip and accidentally leaned forward to far and creased it and so it backed up and overflowed. HOWEVER after we figured out that was the problem we haven't had that problem again. My husband (this is the wife) and son also used it with the tube attached as a discreet way to go on the road trip their only complaint was the color lol we liked it and are ordering another for a family member!
