Review on Transitional Barefoot Shoe For Women By WHITIN - Minimalist, Lifestyle-Inspired Design, Perfect For Beginners by Tommy Abreu

2 Stars for Whitin Loafer, 5 Stars for Whitin Womens Wide Width Lace-up Sneaker

Edit: Best Buy seems to be combining reviews for different shoes. I left a 2-star review for the Whitin Loafer which was scratchy and too small. I left a 5-star review for the Whitin Womens Wide Width Sneaker. It fit great. It's a very good, affordable Transition shoe. So take the stars with a grain of salt.-----------------------------------------------------I ordered these Whitin slipons, a pair of XERO Aptos slipons, and the Whitin Wide Toebox Womens Sneaker in Wide, all in size 39. In regular shoes I'm an 8-1/2 while a 39 is an 8 but I went by the size chart which told me to order the 39. If you're a half-size I suggest you order up, not down. These are the first minimalist barefoot shoes I've ever ordered, and the first shoes I've worn in over 8 years.I don't know if the slipons run small or if the Whitin Wide Womens Sneaker runs large, but the sneaker fits really comfortably while this slip-on was too small. My big toe bumped up against the end. I couldn't fully spread my toes, and the padding around the ankle was uncomfortably tight. The fabric was also rough and scratchy. The XERO Aptos was also too short and too tight around the ankle. Maybe I just don't like ankle padding. Maybe it's the fact that my only footwear has been Vionic Tide sandles for the last 8 years, but I can't stand tight, constricting shoes. In comparison, the Whitin Wide womens sneaker gives my toes plenty of room and is neither constricting nor floppy. Finally a pair of shoes that fits my feet! Those I'm keeping!

Pros
  • Provides a greater feeling of control during physical activities
Cons
  • Easily absorbed dirt and grime from outdoor surfaces
