Review on Dcorn Monitor Portable Monitors Raspberry 1280X800 7", HD72 by Jeff Johnson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

No 1080p and faulty power supply

Firstly, the product name is a lie, this monitor is either 1280 x 768 (according to Windows) or 1280 x 800 (according to the monitor itself), neither of which is 1080p. It's not a problem for me because when I ordered such a small monitor I wasn't expecting it to have an FHD resolution, but some of you might be annoyed that its resolution is lower than advertised. The picture quality is stable. The 1280x768 resolution is a good and sharp image for a monitor of this size, and at-a-glance color reproduction is comparable to my HDR monitor (although I highly doubt this small screen supports HDR). It's nice and bright, but as far as I can tell there's no way to adjust the backlight brightness, only gamma. concerned with the settings on the old TV, then you can find out. The remote control that came with the product really helps, but that's where the biggest problem comes in: the IR sensor/receiver on the monitor itself is on the side, outside the screen bezel. This means that if you want to use the remote control, you must either position it around the right side of the monitor or carefully place a mirror behind the screen so that the sensor catches the remote control. I will not speak. about the sound quality, because honestly I never use the built-in speakers on computer monitors. From what I heard when setting it up, it's fine for listening to speech or dialogue, but you probably don't want to use it for music. Unfortunately my biggest issue with the monitor and the reason I am returning it is a faulty electrical system. The screen would occasionally turn on and off when I was using it, sometimes even accompanied by a loud cracking sound that I can assume is internal sparking. I don't know if my unit is defective or is the result of some strange electrical setup in my current home, but none of my other units with the same surge protector have ever suffered from this and I have no interest in going through it. Troubleshooting or replacement attempt.
