But because I enjoy welding Aluminum
, I tried 2% Thorium on DC. It worked fine. Decided to try 2% lanthanum for aluminum welding. But since I like to weld aluminium, I decided to use 0.8% zirconium. The first thing that struck me was how hard the zirconium was. I sharpen them with a diamond wheel and had to work harder than with Lanthanated. But was really impressed with how well he holds the point. It did little to improve cleaning balance but was better overall than Lanthanated for AC welding. I will definitely buy 1/16" and 3/32" again. It costs a little more, but it's worth it.
