I have Sartor bursitis and after doing some research I decided to try the Altra running shoes. There is a lot of space in the sock. I can even wear toe pads and don't feel like my toes are rubbing against the inside of the shoe. The fit is exactly as expected, but go to the Altra website and download the sizing chart. This is the best way to choose your shoe size. It has ample cushioning and a snug fit in the heel and arch. These aren't minimalist shoes, if that's what you want. But these are zero-fall shoes. I love it, I wear it all the time. Good airflow too. Unfortunately, now that my feet are used to the correct position of my feet, I can't wear other shoes because they feel like they are pinching my feet. I guess I'll have to buy more alts then.
