Not sure what happened but I plugged it into the AC adapter outlet and it worked fine for a while and then out of nowhere it started smoking and mine the car wouldn't start. After checking the battery, I found that the battery was completely discharged and the fuse was blown. It's too strong for most cars. Be sure to check your car's voltage rating so you don't have the same problem I did.
