Review on Denso DAC673 6003 Ignition Coil by Joseph Hall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great alternative to OEM Ford

After all, I had several coils that failed in my 2008 F150 5.4 3V and didn't want to pay more than $45 for OEM Ford coils. This was a great solution to this problem. Denso makes a lot of great OEM parts for other automakers, so they are high quality but not at the OEM factory price. I made 4 coils first but ended up using Denso coils on all 8 because I just couldn't trust my factory coils anymore. Same power, but my truck finally has the kick I've been missing for so long. At the same time I also replaced the dreaded spark plug and as a result the truck runs like new and the fuel consumption is much better. I've heard too much about a yellow coil and other fakes to feel comfortable putting them in my truck. All in all, it was a great investment that didn't completely break the bank. Here is what I used in the setup: Spark plugs: Motorcraft SP-515 Coils: Denso DAC673-6003 spark plugs removed as per Ford TSB and pulled all 8 without breaking. If you follow the TSB you won't have as many problems. If you blow a spark plug, buy a Leslie spark plug removal tool and you'll be in good shape.
