I have tried several natural deodorants. This one is just fine. I found this very inconvenient because I can't follow all the procedures I need to make it effective for me. Pro: If used correctly, it works. For me, a daily athlete, it kept the odor at bay for over 24 hours (but never 72 hours) and seemed to dry my armpits like an antiperspirant. The smell is pleasant and unobtrusive Cons: 1. It is very inconvenient to apply this product correctly, since you have to let it dry. It's dirty and will be on all your clothes if you don't let it dry and also I've found that it seems less effective if your clothes wipe it off and I got the smell earlier. The best option I've found is to apply it at night and sleep topless so it doesn't rub off on your shirt. If I forgot to put it on at night, I had to put it on in the morning and wear a bra for 30 minutes until it was completely dry. But when it dries it still stays on the inside of my shirt and can be seen if I'm wearing a tank top. 2. After about 3 months of use, I started getting painful ingrown hairs in my armpits, especially when I applied it after shaving. The directions say not to apply it after shaving, but sometimes life happens and I have to. I've never had an ingrown hair like this or in this area so I really think it's related to this product. I'm also skeptical that this deodorant seems to make me sweat less like maybe ingrown eyes do, so it reduces sweat by clogging your pores, much like the aluminum in traditional antiperspirants.
