I ordered this case to protect my new Fire HD 8. Not only does this case have a great design and high quality materials to protect my tablet, but it is also fully functional. The case can be used for hand-held reading or as a desk stand and features an automatic sleep/wake function. It has an elastic strap to hold the lid both open and closed and a second strap to keep my hand in place so I don't accidentally drop the tablet while using it. It also has a holder for my tablet wand. I love feeling a real book and the technological benefits of e-books at the same time! The best case!
