I was surprised that the tip of my Apple Pencil actually wore out in much less time than I expected. Sure, it's been over a year and I knew it was coming, but I was still surprised. Why I thought it never wears out, I don't understand! So it makes sense to buy several spare parts. I received them in a very timely manner and it is very easy to swap out the tips.
