We have a Zebra ZXP printer for ID cards and some other applications and I buy these ribbons quite often. Probably more than a few dozen in the last 3 years or so. They're fine and I've never had too many problems with them. However the printer is another story but that's another review  They are a bit pricey and I didn't find any real options there. The average cost to print a card is about 0.17, which is 3-5 times the cost of my HP color laser. To be honest this is a dedicated printer and my laser doesn't print on PVC cards. However, I wish there was a recycling program that would accept a printer cartridge to reduce both waste and costs. I would give more stars if the price was a little lower.
