I like big ceramic mugs. Some of my favorites hold 20 to 22 ounces; Their bases are wide and have a lower edge, meaning there is a small gap between the hotplate and most of the mug. Due to the size it was difficult to find a big enough heater; The size and material made it even more difficult to keep my coffee hot. This heater does the job. If I cover the mug with a lid it even gets too hot - stupid I know, but nice when you have to turn the heat down to a lower temperature!
