Review on Gates CVT Carbon Cord Drive Belt for Polaris General (2016-2020) - Model 25C4108 by Christopher Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

When I bought the PolRis General in 2017 I felt that it was very jumpy and slow at high speeds.

Big difference. When I bought the PolRis General in 2017 I felt that it was very choppy and slow in high gear. Later I made the mistake of not downshifting in a deep ditch and smelled the belt. Later I had problems with the engine light coming on and everything else related to "belt smoking". I did the same thing with my Polaris Sportsman 500 17 years ago. I bought a Gates belt and for the next 17 years and over 8,000 miles I had no problems. So I didn't hesitate. That is different. Immediately I noticed a difference in smoothness at low speeds in high gear. The problem is again solved by Gates.

Pros
  • Strength: The first CVT belt with an elastic carbon strand that combines minimal stretch with exceptional strength.
Cons
  • Protection
