This is my holy grail, despite the alcohol in the ingredients! I'm 3c/4a and it doesn't dry my hair out at all. Before using this product, my hair was brittle, dry and constantly breaking. I didn't hesitate to apply this product to my hair because I had literally tried everything else and nothing worked, plus I was on a tight budget. And it worked! I apply my castor oil and vitamin E blend after applying conditioner to seal it in. Sometimes I can't believe it's my hair because it feels so soft and healthy like never before. One thing I also noticed is that it defines my curls a bit after applying it to damp hair. I don't know if it's because it has frizzy properties or because my hair was lacking moisture and finally got it. All in all, that's a plus for me. As for flaking, I had no flaking even when my hair was wet. I use Care Free Curl: Instant Curl Activator with it and it still doesn't come off! They work well together. I use the LCO method for low porosity hair. First I add water, this leave-in, curl activator, then castor oil and vitamin E oil (I like heavier oils).
