I bought this for my 18 year old cat who decided to stop eating. She has completed the entire course of treatment, so there are no health problems. Every time I find something she likes, she stops eating when I'm done. I liked that there were fewer cans instead of a box of 24. Cat food is very expensive now, and this is no exception. This brand has good ingredients and all the right ingredients. It is great and suitable for cats. There are real cuts of meat and chicken cuts. My other cat goes nuts when I open it, meows and chases after me - he LOVES it! But the cat I bought it for hates it! All of these flavors are based on tuna. They smell so disgusting that I choke and have to hold my breath. It doesn't smell like a can of tuna you open to eat yourself. It smells like the worst fish market - all 10. Not just raw fish, but spoiled raw fish. The microwave stinks and I have to leave it open to air it out after heating the food. My 18 year old cat turned away so quickly that she immediately left her food. I put different plates of food in front of her to try, but she didn't touch them or even drink water until I took the plate of food away. When I put her down she came over and ate something else and drank the water quite well. So I give it to my other cat who loves it because I don't want to waste it. I don't know why it's so dark brown either, it's mostly black. It is strange. But if there's no artificial coloring, it's probably like throwing your own lunch in a blender — it'll likely end up an ugly dark brown, too.
