I would just like to start by saying that the Satisfye Switch grip that I received is not a 'bad' product at all. I find it useful and will not be returning it. There's just a lot of hype surrounding this product - both on Revain and on external gaming websites (like IGN etc) - which isn't entirely justified. In some reviews, this grip looked like it would be a "game changer" in terms of the joy of turning off the dock. My opinion after a few days of use is that the product is a modest improvement, but it hasn't revolutionized my experience of using the Switch out of the dock in any way. This gives a bit of comfort to the hands, but playing from the dock still gets uncomfortable after a limited amount of time, just like without the grip, and I notice the extra weight of the grip (in a bad way). For quality versus value based on what I mentioned above I would give it four stars. To me, this is a nice $12-$20 accessory that's inexplicably selling for over $25 as of April 2020, but it's a well-made product that offers at least some convenience. However, I was disappointed when I noticed some scuffs on my Switch today and attached joy mines as mentioned in other reviews. I kind of assumed that the 'new design' Satisfye announces in the video shown here would mitigate this issue, but apparently not. I was able to erase some of the scratches, but some appear to be permanent without the use of a file. My Switch is older and has a bit different signs of use anyway, so it's a bit of an issue for me. However, my wife has a Switch in better condition, so I advised her not to use this grip due to wear and tear issues. The same advice applies to anyone with a newer Switch. So this grip is conceptually good and appears to be well made, but it adds a bit of weight, which offsets the increased comfort of the grip. And scuffs resulting from limited use are unfortunate but seem inevitable. The final point I overlooked before is that getting to grips with the Switch isn't easy. They make the video process much easier, but sometimes some bickering may be required. My rating would be closer to 3.5 stars than 3, but I'm deferring the lower rating due to (1) wear and tear damage, (2) inflated prices, and (3) only a nominal improvement in comfort over simply using Switch. without this grip.
