. The FoodCycler is good for converting vegetable and fruit waste into fertiliser. I haven't used it on meat products, but the manufacturer claims it can be used on meat as long as it doesn't contain large bones. In other words, FoodCyler has a lot to offer. Unfortunately, it has some limitations. The waste collection bucket is small and easy to fill with less than a day's leftovers, depending on the menu. The husks and cobs of some corn cobs can easily fill most of a bucket. That wouldn't be a problem if the FoodCycler was fast, but it isn't. it's slow It takes several hours to recycle a bucket full of waste. I am concerned about the durability of the device. The directions include all sorts of dire warnings about things the FoodCycler can't handle (like hard nuts and seeds, among others), and the company says it's not a good idea to fill a bucket while it's in the car. That's a little unreasonable. It's designed to potentially be used as a desktop device, allowing you to really fill the bucket without removing it. I don't really care because I keep it on my back porch so I bring in a bucket to fill while I cook. Quality control can also be an issue. The first FoodCycler I ordered didn't work. It worked for hours but never finished the drying phase, probably because it never got hot. The replacement has arrived and works perfectly. Will i buy it again? Yes, unless something better comes along, but I'd prefer one that can handle more waste.
