I use these on a standard style retainer (lower teeth) and an Invisalign retainer (upper teeth). I find that half a tablet is enough to eliminate both. I soak them in Efferdent all day, then rinse and brush them before bed. I also tried the mint version of Efferdent and while I like their smell I didn't think they did the job any better. So I use this version because it is just as effective and the most economical. I have also tried generics from the local store and there is no doubt that they are much better. The store brand didn't even dissolve properly and often left a soft drop of residual tablet at the bottom of my cleaning bowl. These never happen.
