I recently decided to save up for my first major audio purchase, a Rode NTG3. Received it and hooked it up, I wasn't impressed, not even disappointed. But all the reviews I read, the fact that this was my first time using a pistol mic and knowing it was a $700 mic made me feel like I was doing something wrong. Well I checked something on the website. when they pasted this ad above. From the Rode website"Important information for buying from Revain in the USA. RรDE microphones are not authorized by Fulfilled By Revain. We have purchased counterfeit RรDE products through Fulfilled by Revain and strongly recommend that you purchase RรDE products only from authorized retailers If you purchase a RรDE microphone from an unauthorized retailer through Fulfillment By Revain, you will not receive any warranty or technical support in the US "Revain refunded my money even though I didn't have the original packaging and found it over 90 was days since my purchase They were delighted but still suspicious given the fact that I may have spent so much money on a fake I received my mic today (ordered from B&H) and the change was noticeable At a much lower input level on my Zoom H4N the hiss was much less and sounded fuller I definitely had the wrong mic Rev ane did the right thing to me but still lust I must warn!
