Review on Bell Open Face Motorcycle Helmet Solid by Bill Pool

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good looking and DOT approved style.

As I said in my Shoei review, I bought Revain's helmet because of the price, free shipping (important post), no tax and Revain support. I had a chrome skullcap that I really liked, but it wasn't even DOT approved, and slip-ups weren't fans of it for safety reasons. She still doesn't like the whole face idea, but at least DOT approved of it this time. The helmet is obviously larger and heavier due to DOT requirements, but not as large as many other helmets I've tried on (smaller than the Mushroom). The fold down sun visor is a good thing as it's conveniently there when you need it. and actually fits over goggles that you might want to flip up and down on cloudy days. The inside of the helmet is very comfortable and has a zip in gaiter for colder weather which I actually used yesterday. It definitely helped keep my head warm, but also seemed to make the wind a bit louder (which makes sense). Apparently you can also get the sign in transparent form. I shopped around for quite a while to find a half helmet that had the look, comfort, and color (couldn't find chrome, but matte black was good enough) I wanted. The price is definitely a bit higher than some other half helmets I've seen but the product is worth it in my opinion. I usually wear a large helmet but ended up getting a medium helmet as it fits snugly, that's how I like it. The. When I tried the large one on, the ratchet strap adjusted extremely well. In hindsight, I should have gone with a big one in case I wanted to wear a dew rag or something like that on my head (which I never do, but that would be a good option).
