Not for closet rails
As previously mentioned, these plastic brackets are not designed to support the weight of closet rails with clothing hanging from them. These are not "heavyweights", so it is better to use rod holders made of wood or metal. They are great for holding shower curtain rods with just the shower curtain and maybe a few towels draped over the rod. Also, remember that size matters! I assumed all closet rods were roughly the same diameter and these brackets would fit. But the rubber tips on my rod in the closet are larger than the holders, so I had to remove the rubber tips from the rod to fit the holders.
