Like. like a keyboard. There's no battery to worry about charging, which is nice. The magnets combine with the magnets inside the iPad itself, again providing a very strong hold. I don't have to worry about it ever falling off a metal surface. But that's where the good ends. The keys are very responsive but feel cheap and almost like they are made out of folded paper. The side protection is so lacking that when I don't need the keyboard I unplug it and slip my iPad back into a four-year-old no-name case that actually saved my last iPad from going out of mine at 55 mph car to fall. and crashes into a cement curb. The glass literally shattered and everything still works perfectly. Apple Care Plus replaced my entire iPad. And I believe a back case that has been through hell and is better than this will protect my $2,000 device. I'm just glad I waited to get a rebuilt one for a lower price than new because if I got a new one and felt those keys I'd be pissed. But back on track, it's portable enough to carry my iPad around in my bag, and it actually still fits an iPad with my rugged case, so I hardly have to take it off when I want it to stand. In terms of long-term comfort or ergonomics, I'd say it's about as good as any other tablet keyboard, so get a wrist pad.
