Durability is not what I was hoping for. I've changed vests several times. The fit is fantastic. In the cooler months I use vests with two of my Hungarian Pointing Dogs (Vizsla) to keep me a little warm and improve visibility when running in the east coast woods. Visibility is excellent, but zippers and latches are worse for off-leash active dogs. If you're just walking your dog on the sidewalk at night - vests last you forever - which seems like the intended purpose. However, since I originally bought the vests at a discount from Gundogsupply.com, I figured they were for field use.
