Not completely tight.
I bought this to use with Invisalign in hopes of packing my braces and cleaning solution in an airtight container that I could have in my purse because I travel a lot. I liked the idea of this case, but basically it was a holey, clumsy failure. A small tray that pivots so you can lift your aligners/mouthguard/other equipment is a great idea, but it's not always easy to work with. Half the time I ended up throwing my aligners on random surfaces in public restrooms to get them out. Damned. Place. If I check very carefully that it is properly seated and then slowly screw it in, it closes once in three. The container looks and feels closed until its contents spill out.
