Beautiful but very thin tin boxes!

Good light but not great! I hired them to solve the hallway lighting problems in my house. It was built with a single lightbulb. After studying their design, I decided to check them out. Bought from stock they had bent flanges but the powder coating was not chipped or scratched. The flanges popped up easily with a push of the thumb, like new! However, they are very light! Built-in junction boxes are just as thin! I usually use a Romex 12/2 with a separate "split" box to connect the old wiring to the new. That's where my complaint comes in. 12/2 is too stiff when Romex clamps are used on boxes embedded in boxes, Romex will cause those boxes to deform even with moderate force. I switched to 14/2 and no more problems. These boxes are SMALL. So if you plan to run them in series, understand that fitting the I/O and lamp into the box will be difficult. For a retro fit in wide open spaces, they're perfect. The template is one of the flaps of the box, it's actually a bit big but it can be used. The entire 4 light project with the wire size learning curve took less than 4 hours. The end result is clean and very acceptable! How well will they hold up in the coming years? Who knows. I'm using 35w LED spotlights and a 4ft distance on an 8ft ceiling, I could easily go to a 5ft distance. They would only deserve 5 stars with a little thicker sheet metal. Will buy more, I have a hallway that needs better light placement. Since I started with them and they aren't terrible I will be using them again for an even look.
