I bought this unit to use with a customer's laptop (HP EliteBook 8470 series). She had nothing to give me as she shared with her husband what else he needed. My "universal adapter" had 2 tips that matched but must have been too short so I ordered it. It fit perfectly and worked well eventually within a week or so after the laptop was returned to the customer. I got an angry message that the laptop won't turn on, any suggestions? I did - try the adapter you used before - it worked and no more problems. This adapter is certainly inexpensive, but I expected it to last well over 3 weeks. Since it's not worth bothering the client with again, I can't return it for a replacement. Unfortunately, I have to accept the loss.
