We use them in different sizes. Small for moving cats with us when we move house or to the vet. Used daily to feed them (large carrier sizes, medium or large). The top cargo doors are the only ones that are more comfortable for them to enter, and the ones we used daily have withstood various cats lounging on them for years. They'll know if the feeder is theirs and will enter theirs hoping for a treat, but they'll get stuck on someone else's. These totes offer the best ventilation I've seen in a durable tote. The small latches on the front door come undone, but I think the cats help undo them when they stand in front of it. The metal protrusions on the bottom work well, only fingers aren't as comfortable. I've never attempted to carry a cat by the handle more than once, as I don't trust the plastic locks on the sides of most tote bags. That's probably why all the handles on all the carriers from the last ten years are still in perfect condition. I typically walk any distance with a porter holding the floor one hand/hand, so I probably didn't have an issue with the top door latches breaking. I really thought this last purchase was made out of thinner plastic and when using this size to carry a cat I added luggage straps or elastic cords. Also for smart cats if you find it works like opening top clasps, elastic cords and other cord-like things will frustrate the escape plan.
