The best KVM switch I've tried

This is the third KVM switch I've tried in the last few months. I wasn't happy with the previous ones and I'm not entirely happy with this one, but it's clearly the best of them all. It's head and shoulders better than others I've tried. The Switch works very well with relatively new computers (less than three years old). It doesn't work as well with an older Windows 8.1 computer. Every time I switch back to this device, the screen resolution first decreases and then quickly increases back to 1920x1080, which moves all open windows from their original positions. However, this annoying problem does not appear on Linux on the same computer. This old machine is dual booted and when I run Linux on it and switch between it and another Winsows 10 machine I don't see any problems at all. The switching time between the monitors is quite slow: 3 to 5 seconds. Not a big deal, but it's a little annoying if you switch frequently. Another small problem is the so-called power cord: it is very short. This switch is powered by a cable used for smartphones. It is powered by a USB 2.0 port. I think the manufacturer expected this switch to be very close to the laptop and possibly powered by the laptop, hence the short cord. However, I use it for two desktops, neither of which is close enough for the power cord. I ended up using a USB extension cable; Alternatively, I could buy a longer charging cable. I can't say I highly recommend this switch, but I haven't found a better one yet.
