My 8 year old LOVES magnetic tiles. We have a set of Magna tiles and another set of Picasso tiles. It's the only toy she plays with regularly for a long time. As her birthday approached, we looked at what other sets could be. I found her and I'm so glad I did. She immediately started playing with them. Although she was a bit frustrated at first, thinking they would only hold together with a magnet, any tube would need to be inserted into the tiles provided. These tiles have magnets that can be used with other sets you may have. Once she got the hang of it, she was hooked. It's really fun to make a successful marble run. The only downside is that it didn't come with any sample designs you could create. I love having them but my daughter would probably never use them as she is really good at creating her own designs. But if you have someone who likes a pattern, you will only receive the picture on the box. Not a deal breaker for us and we would buy again.
