Bought these for the density lab to replace the FLINN density cylinders. My students followed the lab as directed and when they calculated the density some of the numbers did not match the information in the packet. If you first look at the labeled table and compare it to the material identification given by length, you will see that the three longest bars are not correctly identified. The image is more accurate when it comes to actual density. The black stick is said to be the third shortest stick and is made of PVC. The density of this also corresponds to our laboratory data and is 1.35-1.45 g/cm3 (we came up with 1.44/1.45). The transparent rod is obviously made of acrylic - the density is 1.09-1.14 according to laboratory data. Clear acrylic is the fourth shortest stem, not the longest as stated in the measurement data in the docs. I guess I get what I pay for But overall most materials worked well. The density of nylon was not so easily distinguished in density in any of my three classes. After all, the masses are not equal. Acrylic has the greatest difference - 15.8 g, the rest - from 16.2 to 16.41.
