I focused on getting these based on many reviews saying they are very good at their low frequencies. They're very decent, but to reach their full potential you'll need to buy the Sony TAZH1ES Portable Amplifier, which costs another $2,100, and the Sony NWWM1Z Hi-Res Walkman Signature Series, which costs another $3,200. To put it simply, my Astell and Kern Roxanne II/JH Audio Roxanne have much better bass response straight out of the box compared to these. I've always looked for an IEM that can play better bass straight out of the box without it having to carry around another piece of brick (portable amp) for normal use. I mean I can and do sometimes make portable amps with Roxanne II or many other IEMs to make them sound better, but they're still relatively cheaper and comparable to this Signature Series setup. Gear from the Signature Series, then get your hands on it. It's still a great piece of Japanese engineering. If you are BASSHEAD, don't worry and waste your time and get Roxanne II [best in my opinion], UE Triple Fi, Aurisonics Kicker or Sony XBA Z5 instead. I bought all my stuff myself and have nothing to do with these companies.
