I have been sewing for 40 years and have always had a Singer machine. I decided to try something different after reading Brother machine reviews. The needle threader is very difficult to use as it takes me about 10 tries to finally thread it. Very frustrating! Also, the thread spindle is on the side, so you have to use thread spools and put a small piece of felt on the end. I had to buy a cone holder to hold the thread cones that I always used. The machine sews decently, but not much better than my Singer. It definitely wasn't worth the disappointment it caused me. It also seems that the fabric I use gets stuck in feces etc seems a lot trickier. And yes, I use the right size needle and presser foot. The next car I buy will go back to the Singer.
