Overall the fan/lamp is good value for money. The instructions are clear, the assembly parts are easy to spot and the packaging is well done too. Details that are missing include the plastic bracket used to support the glass bowl and the location of the fan motor's pull cord. The plastic retaining clip replaces the metal disc used in other lamps. It flexes and makes the glass bowl rock/tilt unevenly. However, as mentioned in another review, the thrust of the fan motor is a real issue. It gets caught on the glass bowl, making it difficult to pull out and thus changing the speed of the motor. My wife is afraid of damaging the bowl as it takes a lot of effort to pull the rope (a light rope will do). Honestly, after installation, what else does the user do besides adjusting the fan speed and direction? Skimping on these details is tiresome. If you feel comfortable, find a workaround for both of these problems. Good luck for the rest.
