Review on Renewed Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in AT&T Cloud Silver, 128GB Storage by Swami Nathan ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An ideal product for any type of consumer.

After 4 months of use, I am generally satisfied with the phone. The Note 9 allowed me to ditch my tablet, as well as implement a handy tool for working with notes/remarks in PDF files. A large battery and excellent software optimization allows you not to think about charging during the whole working day. Well, stable work also pleases. The only thing we couldn't come to terms with was the rounded screen, which is why I give it a "4" rating. after almost 2 years of operation: 1. The phone is well supported by the manufacturer - not so long ago, the current version of Android and the latest version of the OneUI shell arrived. 2. There are no problems with performance, nothing slows down, all new toys work. 3. The battery after 2 years, of course, got tired, it no longer holds a day, but I can count on 12-14 for sure. Taking into account fast charging, there is no desire to upgrade the battery yet. 4. The screen did not burn out (despite the fact that the phone works 4 hours a day as a navigator), there are no scratches - I use the stylus all the time. 5. Bixby was calmed down, the launch of the Calendar was hung on its button by quite a regular means. 6. For 2 years, 2 charging cords have frayed. I only buy original ones. 7. Similarly, after a year, regular wired ears died. Replaced them with wireless ones. 8. Protective Case didn't do much to make the phone swanky, but also saved it from being smashed 3 times. So I definitely recommend buying a case. 9. Face unlock has turned from a useless feature into a very convenient feature (though only during the day, in the evening everything is not very good). 10. And finally - I am very pleased with the device. It is bug-free and reliable. After 2 years, nothing slows down on it. At current prices for flagships, it's worth taking a closer look at it.

Pros
  • 1. Stability. There was not a single case of "abnormal" behavior of the phone. Everything works like clockwork. 2. Decent battery life. I'm guaranteed enough for the day. Samsung S7 with a new battery in the same mode of use was discharged "to zero" by 8 pm. 3. General performance. The phone opens large excels without problems, on which the S7 has been thinking for quite a long time. 4. Excellent "double" camera. You can make quite artistic portraits for yourself, very good photos are obtained in low light conditions. 2nd optical zoom available. In short, if earlier I occasionally carried a camera with me, now the need for it has completely disappeared. 5. Simply gorgeous huge screen. At the same time, the phone itself still fits in the hand. After switching from S7 to Note 9, I completely abandoned the parallel use of the tablet. 6. Stylus and software that uses it. First of all, these are quick notes on the off screen, as well as adding notes / corrections to PDF files. 7. A large amount of RAM. The phone is very fast switching between several applications. You can open many tabs in the browser and switch between them almost instantly. 8. Fast charging really allows you to forget to charge your phone in the evening, and in the morning to quickly intercept 50-60% of the charge before leaving the house. 9. Loud and fairly high-quality sound of regular speakers. There are now two of them, there is some semblance of a stereo effect, and you can even listen to music for yourself. 10. The phone comes with very good headphones. 11. Ability to use two SIM cards. 12. Protection against water.
Cons
  • 1. Price. This is the most expensive phone I have ever bought. 2. Glass case / "lack" of the phone. I could not use the phone without a case: the phone is completely ungraspable and slippery - it always tries to jump out of my hands, and the glass case will definitely break if dropped. The Protective Case from Samsung solves the problem, but it is also not without flaws (see below). 3. The original Protective Case from Samsung, on the one hand, really protects the phone (I already checked it for strength once) and increases its “grasping”, on the other hand, it interferes with the connection of some headphones and noticeably increases the already considerable size of the phone. 4. Rounded screen. IMHO, this is perhaps the main drawback of this phone for me. Copying or writing something on the border of a rounded screen is another torment. You have to use landscape mode. 5. Non-alternative Bixby planting. The usefulness of this software is a big question for me, but its launch is rigidly "planted" on one of the hardware buttons, which cannot be reassigned by regular means (there are non-standard solutions). From the spontaneous pressing of this button in my pocket / bag, the cover saves me. 6. The pen is located in such a place that for 4 months I have not learned how to get it “on the machine”. Every time you have to pry it in a tricky way to get it. 7. Flimsy charging plug. For 4 months, the native blabbed. 8. Face unlock is still more of a toy than a really working mechanism. I played with it for a month, and then turned it off and use only a fingerprint.
