But to save you some heartache, here are some measurements: The towel rail measures 12 3/8 inches top to bottom and the distance between the end pieces is 10 5/8 inches. The size of the washcloth is usually 12 inches x 12 inches. If you fold 2 pieces of laundry in half, they won't fit completely on the top shelf. (See image.) The towel is even wider, typically around 16 inches wide. So 2 towels, each folded in half, will hang down about 4 inches from the edges. Hand towels vary in length, but most are around 28 to 32 inches long, so the towel also rests an inch or more on the countertop. So if you are interested in this product, measure what you intend to do. Hang it up carefully. In fact, it can only handle 1 washcloth without going over the edge or onto the counter. The actual design is fine.
