Nearly perfect. (enlarge)

So I have a huge Great Pyrenees puppy who won't leave the trash and sometimes the kitty litter. It stopped it almost perfectly. The problem is that it should be a little longer. One of my cats is a big boy and the door opens onto a washer/dryer room so he can squeeze about 5 inches through uncomfortably. Correction? Cut it out and add/sew a piece of elastic in the middle. I think if you could make it a little expandable it would suit all needs no matter the doorway/fatcat/room situation etc.
