My previous HP mouse actually lasted at least 10 years but ended after deteriorating so much it had to click 2 times. copy once and 2 more cans. insert once. I bought this HP wired mouse to replace a new HP wireless mouse because I was having trouble setting up my wireless network and needed a working mouse NOW. It's literally plug and play, but it's a USB port and my desktop only has two USB ports and no Bluetooth. The old mouse was wired but plugged into the back somewhere, so I'm not thrilled that this cable is taking up space on the keyboard tray. Anyway, as expected, I couldn't connect to my wireless mouse (I have a bluetooth dongle). At the same time I use this and it's ok. Another reviewer complained that this one was too big, but IDK what your previous experience with computer mice may have been. I literally brought this old mouse up and it's pretty much the same size in every way. I have average woman's hands.
