I ground coffee beans and flaxseed in a container that only has two blades. Works perfectly. It probably takes 4 5 second sessions to grind flaxseed into a powdery flour that can be added to yogurt, granola, etc. Coarsely ground coffee beans require 2 to 3 5 second sessions. Sometimes a bean or two escapes, but I just dig them up and put the bag in the bag for next time. As far as cleaning goes, it's that simple. I wash with mild soap after each use. This takes about 30 seconds, then I let it air dry. When you do this, it doesn't retain any coffee or oil smells, so you can use it for small seeds and herbs. I have never cooked fresh herbs or used any other container to chop vegetables. I'll update as soon as I do. But for me, the ability to grind coffee and flaxseed is worth it, and it's small enough and strong enough to travel with.
