Review on Aden Anais Embrace Toddler Bed Weighted by Brandon Bugg

prickly cotton; fades in the wash

This duvet was a big disappointment. I'm a big fan of Aden and Anais; All five of my children had their own set of cotton muslin blankets from this brand as babies (each with its own print :-). I was very excited when I saw this weighted lounge blanket as it is the perfect size. When I opened the comforter I was surprised at how scratchy the cotton is, like really cheap low thread count cotton sheets. The stitching is clearly visible even on bare skin. Thinking it might just need a wash to soften it up a bit (and there was a label on it to wash before use), I washed and dried the comforter as directed. Unfortunately, washing did not soften the duvet, but the pattern faded and the duvet looked worn. The only thing I like about this duvet is that it's a good size and weight and I love that the weight is only around the edges unlike other weighted duvets we've tried ( where the weight is on the whole duvet). Overall, I expected MUCH better from the Aden and Anais brands, especially at the current price of $120. This duvet is not soft and will fade with regular washing. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't order this blanket. Conclusion: We recommend not succumbing to the brand, save money and buy another blanket.
