Ordered these for fake beards and used for fast shipping. Although I've never used a sponge before, it was easy to use with cream makeup, just apply and pull down a bit to give the impression of hair. It was difficult to create sharp edges or mustaches with the corner of a sponge, but we have eyebrow pencils for that
