Review on πŸ’§ Enhance Water Efficiency with Delta RP62734 Handshower Flow Regulator Washer - 1.5 GPM by Tony Winn

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quiet, Gentle Flow Reduction

This adjusted my shower head's flow rate from a painful to a gentle 1.2 GPM with my insane 80+ psi water pressure. Final flow rate will depend on your shower head (it was used with a 2.5 GPM head) so actual flow will likely be less than the advertised 1.5 GPM unless you have an old high flow head and much water. Print. The noise level is very good (can't tell) unlike some other pressure reducing valves which produce a loud hiss of water when turned down. I'm still debating whether or not to use this flow restrictor in combination with a gasket as the outer ring is similar to the gasket material. At the moment I only have the gearbox in mind and there is a small leak so I can put the o-ring back on to see if that stops it. UPDATE: After about a month of use, the flow regulator failed (suddenly my shower went into pressure washer mode)! It appears that the heat and pressure has caused the outer gasket material to separate from the hard plastic center piece. The pressure then wedged it at an angle into the opening of the showerhead, allowing water to flow through the opening between the padding material and the center piece. I'm not sure if the failure is due to the poor quality of the product or my fault for a bad installation (the product doesn't come with instructions on how to use a separate washer), so I've only deducted one star from my rating. I can try to buy another one and use it with a gasket to see if it fails again or not.
