This light is easy to set up and use. It offers a decent range of colors from cool to warm at the touch of a button (I don't plan on using a light control app). There is also a range of functions for the brightness levels (also controllable via rotary control), which provides flexible gradations instead of fixed brightness levels. It comes with a desktop clip for attachment. But I mounted mine on a standard light stand. The light is suitable for table or portrait photography. I use my flashlight plugged into an outlet. But you can also buy additional batteries for it. Grips and cocking fittings work well. Like the rear display, it is easy to read. The head turns as it should. And I love the pouch that comes with it, which holds the flashlight, adapter and plug (no clip). The instruction manual mentions that the flashlight can be used alone or as a main light to control other similar lights as remote controls (they used a more traditional photo term). .).I would like a larger diameter version of the same lamp. Also, some users might think they would benefit from their lighting setup by using more than one of these. I also wish GVM had a long (about 5ft) rectangular panel version of this type of continuous soft light (maybe they have) to use for standing portrait photography. I would recommend this lamp.
