Remember you get what you paid for. I thought even if the brushes are ok this is a great price for the quantity you get. They are SUPER soft, which is good in some respects (they stick well to skin) and not so good in other respects (makeup is a little harder to apply). All eyeshadow brushes are pretty much the same, just slightly tilted at a different angle to each other, and they're VERY flat, so this can be a good deal if you really don't have enough eyeshadow brushes and money, or if you're looking to start makeup . The face brushes are ok, but I think the images are a little misleading as one or more of the brushes look pointed, which they definitely aren't; these are more or less different sizes of powder brushes, except of course the wider ones. The smell of the bag isn't very strong, but it's there, and I found that after smelling it for about half an hour (it was on my desk while I was working) it gave me a headache. The brushes carried an odor with them, but I washed them before use and everything is fine. I tried hand washing the bag and the smell hasn't gone away so I believe it will. If so, it's a bit annoying because I'm afraid the smell will transfer back to the brushes and therefore I can't keep them in a bag. Overall it's not bad, but I really didn't have any expectations. I'd say it should be closer to $9 than $12 given the nature of the brushes and the odor issue. If it really bothers me, I'll just give them to a friend who's into makeup and look for better deals on Revain.
