I bought this for a special needs student, a profoundly deaf 5 year old girl with such a low cognitive level that I could not get her to interact with any of the normal infant/toddler toys . This playmat is a hit! We used it on the table. The bulky part was easy to inflate, and the small, flat, light-colored elements in the central part look attractive. You can add as much water as you like, but more water will allow the innards to move better. Of course, you must supervise the infant/child when playing, especially since babies with teeth can bite through the air-filled part. Another consideration is that I'm not sure if it will smell like mold over time; It can be difficult to clean the inside. But the article seems solid and I can recommend it.
