Review on Columbia Springs Classic Heather Women's Coats, Jackets & Vests - Women's Clothing Selection by John Floyd

Beautiful and practical for clothes

I wanted to write a review for others with what could be considered a "wiry build" as I didn't get much feedback from someone my size. slim, athletic build, bought Stone Green & Columbia Navy size XS. The sizes of these jackets are very large, they fit me 1 or even 1.5 sizes more, but the cut makes them perfect. It doesn't fit anywhere, but has a nice, relaxed fit that doesn't "bulge" out of your body, and a drawcord at the bottom hem allows you to dress it up exactly how you want it. In my photo, the butt is pulled out 2 inches without noticeably flared out and away from the lower body. The length of the jacket is perfect for me, it's a little higher but still at the hips and the sleeves are long enough to reach them. As I write this review I am unable to work with my wrist as I raise my arms above my head and nothing is showing. Colors are really nice, but they can't be called bright or saturated - they look more or less like on screen, there's a certain flatness. That being said, Stone Green surprised me, it's a really gorgeous silver sage green I LOVE, not a dead dull green how worried I was. Others have described it's not true navy but more of a medium, slightly washed blue denim with some green. Definitely not dark blue, but not turquoise either. Images listed for color are most accurately represented in photographs. Plus size models, IMO. Being familiar with this brand, I knew. BUT, if you're looking for a traditional dark blue, choose Dark Nocturnal instead. The fabric is medium thick, a bit stiff, doesn't stretch, keeps the wind out well. These jackets have some drape, but not much; it's very reminiscent of polar fleece from the 80's and 90's - doesn't look as luxe as the Osito jacket, but holds up well (while still stretching a bit away from the body due to the stiffness). It's warm, but I don't think it would handle much less than 40 degrees Fahrenheit on its own, or if you were in very "wet cold" conditions. All in all this is a great option if you just want a durable fleece that will hold up well, has some nice color options and won't break your heart when things get bad during outdoor activities or playing with the kids etc. I find not really a better option at this price point so if you're on the fence I'd say buy it. Only the size is smaller!
