Works, can't match price

I've tried Pyle and a few other brands the same way - both were rubbish with incredible distortion. On the other hand, the cheaper Archeer Mini-Amp does exactly what I need. Surprisingly powerful for their size, they can easily drive bookshelf speakers with minimal distortion. The small remote doesn't do much more than adjust volume and switch inputs - which is fine - didn't even expect the remote to be so cheap. There are a few downsides - some have been mentioned by others - but I notice 2. Difficult to get speaker wire through holes. can disappoint. Second, I bought them to power 4 bookshelf speakers even though they are rated for 2 speakers. I have found that they do well with 3 speakers. Something might happen to the ohmage on the 4th - or who knows what - but I can't get the 4th speaker to work. It's powerful enough to power 4, but it would take an electrophile to explain what's going on here and I'm not qualified. I ended up having to buy more amps than I intended, along with 2 RCA splitters to provide inputs for additional amps, but I am very happy with this product. I just bought a 5th amp and another $8 splitter to power the subwoofer separately - it's powerful enough when boosted with a separate EQ like all my amps and speakers (try the $69 Rockville). So don't waste your money on $40-$50 Pyle amps - Archeer have designed an amp that is very good and cheap on the wallet. 5 amps and 3 splitters cost me about $136, but they drive a good 8" passive subwoofer and 11 bookshelf speakers at 40W RMS. I would say good product.
