The description says that the plastic does not come into contact with water. At the bottom of the kettle is a piece of rubber that is dipped in boiling water. is it rubber Plastic? Silicone? Who knows, because they don't speak. Even if they said it was silicone, I wouldn't trust "silicone" in a Chinese-made device. Waste of time to buy and return now.
